Perth's 9News team rocked by mass exodus
Anchors, reporters and producers depart in shock resignations
Nine's flagship newsroom in Perth has been rocked by a mass exodus of on-air talent and behind-the-scenes staff, The West Australian can reveal.
Long-serving newsreader Michael Thomson, reporter Tracy Vo, sports presenter Matthew Pavlich and weather presenter Scherri-Lee Biggs have all resigned in recent weeks, along with a number of producers and other staff.
The departures come as a shock to the industry, as Nine News Perth has long been the dominant force in local news in Western Australia.
It is understood that the resignations are due to a number of factors, including dissatisfaction with the direction of the newsroom under new management, and concerns about the lack of support for staff.
Nine News Perth has been contacted for comment.
