Zhaklin Lekatari Mosha: A Force in Tanzanian Women's Empowerment
Early Life and Education
Zhaklin Lekatari Mosha was born in Tanzania in 1988. Her passion for education led her to pursue a degree in law from the University of Dar es Salaam, where she graduated with honors in 2011.
Advocate for Women's Rights
Recognizing the challenges faced by women in Tanzania, Mosha dedicated her career to advocating for their rights. She joined the Tanzania Women Lawyers Association (TAWLA) in 2013, where she played a pivotal role in providing legal aid to marginalized women.
Her unwavering advocacy extended to the national level when she was appointed as the Executive Director of the Tanzania Gender Networking Programme (TGNP) in 2017. Under her leadership, TGNP became a leading advocate for gender equality and women's rights, particularly in the areas of legal reform, political participation, and economic empowerment.

Inspired by her passion for empowering women, Mosha entered the political arena in 2020. She successfully ran for a seat in the Tanzanian Parliament, representing the Arusha Urban constituency. As a Member of Parliament, she has continued to champion women's rights and advocate for legislation that promotes gender equality.

Mosha's dedication and impact have earned her recognition beyond Tanzania's borders. She was awarded the prestigious African Gender Award in 2019 for her outstanding contributions to women's empowerment on the continent.
