Les Championnats d'Afrique Hommes de Handball 2024, la 26e édition de la compétition, se tiendront en Egypte du 17 au 27 janvier 2024. La compétition réunira les meilleures équipes nationales de handball d'Afrique pour disputer le titre continental. Le vainqueur de la compétition se qualifiera directement pour les Jeux olympiques d'été de 2024 à Paris.
Les équipes participantes
Une dizaine d'équipes sont attendues à la compétition, dont l'Egypte, pays hôte, l'Algérie, championne en titre, la Tunisie, le Maroc, l'Angola et le Cameroun. La liste complète des équipes participantes sera annoncée dans les semaines à venir.
Le format de la compétition
La compétition se déroulera en deux phases. Dans la première phase, les équipes seront réparties en deux groupes de cinq. Les deux meilleures équipes de chaque groupe se qualifieront pour les demi-finales. Les demi-finales et la finale se joueront sous forme de match à élimination directe.
Les enjeux de la compétition
Les Championnats d'Afrique Hommes de Handball 2024 sont un événement majeur pour le handball africain. Outre le titre continental, les équipes en lice chercheront également à se qualifier pour les Jeux olympiques d'été de 2024.
